Reading over my account, I find it hard to believe that I haven't posted any work since 2010!!  But with an expanding family, a promotion, and an old house, I ramped back in 2011 on a number of modeling actions.  Layout building slowed considerably, and I turned my attention to more detail work.  Now that we have 1/4th of 2012 under our belts, I thought I start cranking out a few more then a few updates again.

First up, some shots of the new BRS Paintshop, sponsored by the Habitat for Humanity ReStore Choptank (where in you can get allsorts of cheap cabinets, caulk, hardware, and Corian counter scraps):

While the Pink Foam baffles the sound rather well - and concentrates it low in the basement, its still a noisy SOB, and the slit at the top has to remain to allow for some cooling.  I have the odds and ends needed to build upper drawers, and I hope they will help with noise reduction as well.

But with some noise reduction in place, painting commenced on a number of fronts in the last week with priming/sealing a number of models:

the White Tower is a Rapid Prototype special offering from Eastern Seaboard Models.  Since White Tower never made it to the Bayou State in real life, mine is about to be reborn as a Crawfish/shrimp/crab boiler, under the theory that the building was for sale cheap in the 1980's and came south on a flatbed truck.  The MOW truck body is one of Lou Judice's Roundmountain Models Shapeways products, and will be in KCS paint shortly.  Unfortunately, painting has temporary halted on these projects because my bottle of Reefer White is now a semi-solid, so a new supply is in route.

I also got back to another long suffering project:
