Over at the Railwire, we got an informal challenge this week to all build, in our respective scales, this:

The powers that be surmised it to be a track bridge that would allow loading of a box car on an adjacent, unseen track.

Since I had yesterday off, and i like a challenge, I dove right in.  My initial progress is tracked in that thread, but here's the final picture that shows where I knocked off Tuesday night:

The cutting mat in the background is deniminated in inches, FWIW.  I ended up making a run to my LHS yesterday for more glue and styrene, so I may get back to finishing this tonight.

And, By Saturday . . .

A little paint

Followed by some weathering and chain

And it was done.

I have absolutely NO idea what I'm going to do with this little thing, but it sure was fun to build.  So the next time you see a photo, and think Hey, I bet I could knock that out in an evening from the scrapbox, go ahead and knock it out.

Just make sure to post it here, so we can see it.
